Christina Aguilera perform with her contestant Jacquie Lee the song “We Remain” – from the “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” soundtrack – during the last performance show of Season 5 of “The Voice” on Monday, December 16th.

“We Remain” is a beautiful ballad co-written by Mikky Ekko and Ryan Tedder performed by Christina and included on the soundtrack of the latest “The Hunger Games” instalment. “We Remain” was officially sent to US radios last October, meaning it did receive the single status, but there’s yet to be a music video out.

As for Christina and Jacquie’s duet of “We Remain” on “The Voice” last night, it was superb. Christina didn't oversing it (phew!), and let Jacquie shine where it was due.

Christina Aguilera knows very well it is "The Voice” from where she has to revamp her weakened music career. The chart failure of her last album "Lotus" forced the 32-year-old singer to return to the NBC singing competition for its Season 5 after leaving it on Season 3. So asking the “The Voice” execs to let her and Jacquie perform her own song “We Remain” on Monday was a clever move. Christina needs to keep letting the general public know she's still in the business.

It's a shame she doesn't have a new album and single to promote.
