Becky G recently inked a deal to be the new teen face of CoverGirl and we first had the chance to look at materialised evidence of this new partnership when the 17-year-old rapper included a bunch of CoverGirl product placement in her music video for “Shower”. Now, CoverGirl has snatched another Becky G exclusive.
They recently shot an acoustic performance of her Dr. Luke-produced rising pop hit "Shower" and premiered it on YouTube yesterday (July 18).

Sat on a couch, wearing a chequered outfit, and accompanied only by a guitarist, Becky G showed she ain't only a rapping but a talented singer as well. She may not have an incredible vocal range - that's what I assume - but she's got a fantastic 'studio' voice, and she can deliver solid live performances as well. This acoustic performance of "Shower", brought to you by CoverGirl, has definitely made me more of a fan of Becky G.
Debut album coming this October!
At last! We finally know when Becky G is going to release her full-length debut album. She released last year her debut EP “Play It Again”, and in October this year she will be dropping her full-length debut via Kemosabe Records / RCA. So, can we be expecting any new songs anytime soon?
Well, my album is actually coming out in October! I feel ready to put it out in the universe for my fans to listen to. I'm just so excited about it, because I've put my heart and soul into it. It's taken a lot of time, but now we know what the album is going to sound like, and when it's going to be out. I can't give any names yet of any of the other songs.
It's going to be a fun album! People are definitely going to hear a lot of my stories and stories of people in my life. You're gonna wanna dance. You're gonna wanna cry. You're gonna feel a lot of things. But it's definitely more on the fun side.
