Watch: Avril Lavigne Performs New Song '17' at 'Secret show' In Los Angeles

Canadian pop singer Avril Lavigne put on a 'secret showcase' for fans at Los Angeles' The Viper Room on Thursday (April 25), where she rocked out a setlist made of old hits and new songs from her yet-untitled upcoming fifth studio album, due in stores in September via Epic Records.

Pictured above is Ms Lavigne arriving at the Sony X Headphones-sponsored event posing for photographers at the red carpet looking extra happy and nice in a leathery outfit. Inside the packed venue, the soon-to-be-Mrs-Kroeger debuted a brand new song called "17". It's an upbeat kind of nostalgic pop/rock record that sure will make everyone forget about Taylor Swift's "22". I am so over Tay-Tay's single, plus, I had more fun when I was 17 than 22, lol. Avril's "17" sounds fun, fresh, and very 'Let Go'-esque, and that ain't a bad thing!

At The Viper Room, Avril also treated her devoted fans with the first live performance of her official new single "Here's To Never Growing Up". The song ain't doing that amazingly on iTunes (the leak clearly hurt sales), but fear not Avril fans, 'cause her record label has already booked her a few TV gigs to reverse the situation. The Ontario star will perform "Here's To Never Growing Up" on 'Dancing With The Stars', 'Today' and 'Jay Leno' in the coming weeks. That promo alone should make the single get back on the 'hit' track.

Avril's '17' vs Taylor's '22'?
