Video Premiere: The Chainsmokers & Halsey - "Closer"
Finally after two long months since the official release of their Halsey-assisted mega hit “Closer” (reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100) taken from their upcoming “Collage” EP (Nov. 4), The Chainsmokers have premiered the music video on their YouTube page.
Why did it take so long? I'm curious!
Directed by Dano Cerny, the “Closer” video shows us the on-screen love story between The Chainsmokers’ Andrew Taggart and “New Americana” queen Halsey. Various scenes will see the “couple” making out on the bed and at other parts of their house. The incredibly hot Andrew will appear shirtless and Halsey will appear wearing nothing but lingerie. Soon their relationship will reach a difficult point, though, for it’s inevitable that couples formed by young people go through bad moments, and of course Andrew and Halsey’s on-screen relationship couldn’t be the exception. One day, while they are both relaxing by the pool, Andrew notices Halsey laying eyes in a lustful way onto another man, ironically the other half of The Chainsmokers, Alex Pall. From that moment on, arguments will spark, and they will have to take a break. However, some time after at a house party, Andrew and Halsey will coincide and will share a lot of eye contact, saying without words that their story is not over yet. So the two will exit the party, will meet on the street and will… reconcile? You go and see!
