Video Premiere: Calvin Harris - "My Way"

Scottish DJ and Taylor Swift’s ex boyfriend Calvin Harris premiered today (Oct. 28) the official music video for his latest single “My Way”, which the 32-year-old man released on digital stores mid-last-month and which became the official follow-up to “This Is What You Came For”, a song which evidently “My Way” couldn’t top nor surpass in popularity. I mean, which song do you think it’s going to be more popular, one sung by Rihanna or one sung by Calvin Harris? Come on.

Directed by Emil Nava, the music video for the clubby and feel-good “My Way” is both a little confusing and futuristic. If I’m not mistaken, the video sees Calvin Harris, in some sort of giant red cube, using a VR headset that will transport him to a scene where he is in a cottage next to a beautiful but quiet woman. They will only look intensely at each other but won’t share a word. The video will be plagued with intentional digital image distortions. Back to the real world, the girl from the virtual reality will appear wearing an all-eyes-on-me luminous dress inside the same red cube from before, and there’ll also be dancers getting their lives from the “My Way” drop at a nearby clubby set. That's about it.

I truly don’t know what I just watched, but I didn’t entirely hate it, but I won’t be watching it again for sure.

In case you didn’t know, Calvin isn’t planning on releasing a new full-length album for the time being, for he is focusing right now on just releasing one-off singles.
