Katy Perry entered the select list of Super Bowl halftime performers today, February 1st, 2015.
Today at the 49th NFL Super Bowl, the American pop star performed a 12-minute medley of hits during the game’s halftime that featured not-very-surprising guest appearances by rock legend Lenny Kravitz and iconic rapper Missy Elliott. As promised by Katy at the pre-game conference, her halftime show had an epic entrance and closing, and included "lions and sharks". Watch it all in beautiful HD quality below:
Evident lip-syncing aside (perhaps not all but a large proportion yes), Katy Perry put on a very entertaining halftime performance and included all the hits that she had to include. Wow at her entrance, at the lighting effects, at her costumes, and yey at the amazing energy Lenny and Missy’s appearance injected to the overall performance. Hopefully this marks the true comeback of Missy to the front line of the music scene.
Did Katy match or top what Beyoncé or Madonna did a few years ago? Certainly not, as she’s still missing that “stage murder” factor, but she still scored an “A” for me!
