Vance Joy Releases New Single "Lay It On Me", Music Video Features "Westworld" Actress!
Australia’s very own Vance Joy (who we all love since “Riptide” happened in 2013) released his new single “Lay It On Me” today on all digital platforms. The song is one the many new ones that will appear on Vance’s forthcoming second studio album, which will hit stores later in 2017 via Atlantic Records.
“Lay It On Me” is an indie-folk song about Vance really wanting to get intimate with a girl he’s completely fallen for (“If all my defences come down, oh baby / Will you lay it all on me now?”).
Here’s an exclusive quote from Vance Joy from the press release we received a few moments ago:
“I had this guitar riff I had been playing for ages but had never found a home for,” Vance Joy said of the single. “When it was glued together with a lyric I had in my phone, ‘everything starts at your skin,’ the song started to make sense.”
The official music video for “Lay It On Me”, which came out today too, was directed by Mimi Cave (Sylvan Esso, tUnE-yArDs, Jim James) and features actress Angela Sarafyan of the HBO series “Westworld”. Hey girl!!!! Big fan of “Westworld” here. Can’t wait for the next season.
