Tragic: Fetty Wap Sells 75k Albums Only First Week, Misses #1 On Billboard Top 200: "Singles Artist" Then?
What a disappointment. Executives at his record label must be in shock.
The numbers are in and Fetty Wap’s eponymous first studio album has debuted at…#3 on the Billboard Top 200 with only 75k copies sold. He was beaten by country singers Don Henley and George Strait who sold 84k (#1) and 82k (#2) respectively.
OMG! OUCH! IS THIS REAL? Only 75.000 albums sold? An with the impressive number of Top 10 hits he’s sad and the massive radio airplay? What happened? Label insiders were expecting “Fetty Wap” to move 300k+ units first week! And although I thought these expectations were a bit unrealistic, I personally believed Fetty Wap would at least sell 100k…but 75k? This is disaster. With this, we can totally confirm with maximum certainty Fetty Wap is a “singles artist”. I thought he was going to be the new 50 Cent (in his early days) or something. So sad.
Oh well, he should keep the “singles” coming, though, as those are certainly going to work out for him well, unlike album sales.
