Tinashe, Chris Brown & Missy Elliott Perform at 2014 Soul Train Awards: Watch
BET finally aired the 2014 Soul Train Awards on Sunday (Nov. 30th) night during a two-hour special. This awards ceremony was pre-taped in early November at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The most interesting performers at this year's edition were: Chris Brown, Tinashe and Missy Elliott. The two major awards of the night "Best Album of the Year" and "Song of the Year" were given to Beyoncé (for "BEYONCÉ") and Pharrell (for "Happy"), respectively.
Tinashe set the Orleans Arena stage ablaze with sexy and energetic performances of "Pretend" and "2 On". She kept it cute for "Pretend" but when the mighty urban beat of "2 On" dropped Tinashe just switched to BEAST mode. She killed it.
Chris Brown performed a medley of old and new songs consisting of: “Yo (Excuse Me Miss),” “Poppin’,” “Take You Down,” “New Flame” and “Loyal”. Very entertaining but I did not dig his outfit choice.
Last but not least, Missy Elliott (how long has been since she didn't perform at an awards show!?) reunited on stage with sisters Lil' Kim and Da Brat to perform their 1996 platinum single “Not Tonight (Remix)”. Angie Martinez was also featured on the remix…so I wonder why she wasn't there. Maybe there's a beef that we don’t know?
