The Weeknd - "In The Night" [Music Video Premiere!]
There’s a new official single from The Weeknd’s super successful
second studio album “Beauty Behind The Madness” and that’s the Max
Martin-produced song “In The Night”. The BRTHR-directed, Sara Greco-produced
music video premiered simultaneously tonight at 7pm (ET) on MTV.com and VEVO.

A guy fan of The Weekend explained pretty well the concept behind
the cinematic, 6-minutes long music video for “In The Night” on the YouTube
comments. Have a read!
The symbolism in this whole video gives you a sense of deeper meaning to it all. I'm pretty sure the majority won't bother interpreting it, which connects to why The Weeknd says "I'm sure you don't understand" because the song isn't as shallow as what it may appear to be. He uses colors, symbols and females as a way to explain this allegory, like a social commentary on how life is viewed.
Well my interpretation of it all, falls under the psyche where he's being conflicted between his emotions. This can also be interpreted on a grandeur scale, based on how we live in a male dominated society and possibly the way females are treated in our modern times. I can go in-depth, but I'd have to write like a page of detail this whole video provided. If you want, I can but for now the general theme to me is: confliction, revenge, oppression, and love. The color red is extremely evident in this video and provides a sort of general idea of what the song may mean. He always has Asians in his videos as well, so that may also play a part into the whole male driven society concept.
The Weeknd really knows how come up with intense music videos. Just wow!
