The Vamps - "Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)" [Music Video]
Who was Cecilia? UK band The Vamps are "survivors" in the newly-premiered music video for "Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)", the fifth single from their debut album “Meet the Vamps”. The new single will be officially out in the UK on October 12. Will it become The Vamps’s first #1?
Just like they did with their previous single “Somebody to You” – which featured Demi Lovato on the official single edit – The Vamps have asked a US artist to feature on the single edit of "Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)". This time it wasn’t a popular artist like Demi, but a newcomer: Shawn Mendes. Good idea? Well, the kid is certainly on the rise, and his self-titled EP sold moderately well for being a new artist. The Vamps and Shawn met while on tour with Austin Mahone - they both were opening acts. The Vamps needed someone to apparently make “Cecilia” better or more profitable, and they thought of no one better than their newly-made friend.
"Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)" review
The music video for the new The Vamps single premiered on VEVO on Monday, September 8. The video has a “Survivor” theme. After being shipwrecked, The Vamps find themselves on a lonely island – or they assume it’s lonely. They build a place to live, search for water and food, and make a "Vamps Help" sign with palm tree leaves placed on the sand. While on a recon mission of the island, the British band is ambushed by a group of females who inhabited the island before them. They take them to their camp, and thankfully for our singing friends, the girls are peaceful and rather friendly. They hang out until one day a plane flies over the island and The Vamps have to chase it as it is their only chance of going back to civilization. Shawn Mendes has a few lonely scenes in the video, although I'm not sure how he got to the island in the first place as he technically didn't get shipwrecked with The Vamps.
