The Vamps have at last chosen a new single from their new album “Wake Up”, which got released in the UK yesterday, November 27th. The official follow-up to the lead single, and title track, “Wake Up” is going to be “Rest Your Love”. Congratulations?

It’s taken the British pop/rock band exactly a month and half to kill “Wake Up” (the single), which was a total flop in the UK after debuting outside the Top 10. Personally, I would have picked and released the second single the day after the debut position of “Wake Up” was announced. What a disaster! No doubt the executives at Universal must be shocked with the performance of “Wake Up” (the single). They invested a lot of money to have The Vamps promote the song in both the UK and US, and to see it underperform on the charts and sell miserably must’ve gotten them extremely worried, feeling like fools and they must be definitely considering now whether to drop The Vamps or not. But before taking this drastic decision, they must feel 100% sure. This is why The Vamps’ bosses at Universal are allowing them to release a new single from the album “Wake Up” and this is “Rest Your Love”, a pop/rock song where band frontman Bradley Simpson sings about being always there, and being the resting shoulder for the girl he’s in love with. Whenever she needs him, he will be by her side! All in all, the song falls into the “cute” category, but in my humble opinion, this is a rather weak ‘single’.

The Vamps dropped earlier today, November 28th, the official music video for “Rest Your Love” on VEVO, and the Frank Borin-directed “MV” shows the band members being the hosts of different tribe-themed parties that are happening in contiguous rooms. Bradley Simpson is the host of the hipster party, James McVey is the host of the posh party, Connor Ball is the host of the circus freaks party and Tristan Evans is the host of the rebel teens party. As the song progresses, all parties will see its party people dance like maniacs and make a mess of their respective rooms. When the “Rest Your Love” video is about to the end, all The Vamps members will take down the walls dividing their rooms and they will all, including their friends, come together for one final party moment as a big group.

I’m not really sure of what I have just watched, but this certainly didn’t make a lot of sense with the lyrics of the song. I didn’t see any girl in trouble that needed a shoulder to cry on. Oh well, if The Vamps think this music video is going to help the new single’s performance, then so be it…I wish them the best, and I seriously hope they don’t end 2015 as a dropped band. I do think they have charisma and talent, though, but unfortunately they’re being awfully handled.

What do you think of the video?
