The Saturdays Perform "Drake, TLC & Destiny's Child" Mash-Up For "Live Lounge"

the saturdays live lounge

The Saturdays performed a two-song acoustic set for BBC Radio 1's "Live Lounge" series, hosted by Fearne Cotton, on October 22. First, they sang their new single "Disco Love", from their fourth album "Living for the Weekend", and later, for their cover performance, they beautifully sang a Drake/TLC/Destiny's Child mash-up. Listen below.

Harmonies, harmonies, and harmonies! These girls are improving their singing skills with each album. The performances sounded incredible. "Disco Love", which debuted at #4 on the UK Singles Chart earlier in October, is a lovely song, but it's fair to say people in the UK aren't feeling it that much, or at least, not as much as "What About Us", which did peak at #1. Is there another "Living for the Weekend" with that "hit" potential?. Still, the ladies aren't giving up on "Disco Love" just yet. They nailed on "Live Lounge".

As for their cover performance, the song choice(s) was a complete surprise. Can't remember the last time someone performed a mash-up on "Live Lounge". The Saturdays began their cover performance with Drake's "Hold On We're Going Home", before transitioning to TLC's "No Scrubs", and ending with Destiny' Child's "Survivor". Just superb! Loved the arragement they did, and of course, their vocals too.
