Taylor Swift Shines Bright On 'Ellen'
Queen of sales Taylor Swift - her new album "Red" sold over 500k copies in the US alone in its first day of release, and will without a doubt beat the record set by its precedessor "Speak Now" that sold exactly 1,047,000 copies in its debut week two years ago - appeared on Thursday's episode (October 25) of 'The Ellen Show' to perform live two songs from her recently-released fourth studio album; the lead single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and the title track "Red", as well as her classic hit "You Belong With Me". Truly good-good performances! Taylor's vocals and stage presence simply shined, probably helped by the amazing energy of the enormous crowd.
Let me get back to the potential first-week sales of "Red" though. I really didn't think Taylor could surpass the epicness of "Speak Now" that sold over 1 million copies in one week in 2010 considering the state of the industry and that album sales are declining each year. So I figuered two things matter in Taylo'w case: First, her fans are truly LOYAL, and her new music just keeps connecting with the general audience which helps increase her sales numbers. Bow to the new Queen, y'all!
