Taylor Swift released a new countdown single from her forthcoming sixth studio album “Reputation” (out November 10) in the early hours of Friday morning. The new song in question is “Call It What You Want”, track number 14 on the album, a song co-written by Taylor with Jack Antonoff, and produced by the fun. member.
Taylor started this era by giving us two explosive songs with “Look What You Made Me Do” and “Ready For It” and now she’s looking to compensate the balance with her second “subdued” “Reputation” promotional single. Following “Gorgeous”, Taylor now gives us “Call It What You Want”, a dreamy-sounding pop song where Taylor recalls how much she has been dragged by the Internet in the latest times but ultimately she thinks she’s gotten the last laugh by saying that at least her love life has been fruitful as not everyone can say the same (clearly “Call It What You Want” was written when she was dating somebody).
Sweet little song and we especially liked the lyric “I want to wear his initial on a chain around my neck / Chain round my neck / Not because he owns me / But 'cause he really knows me”, which clearly proves Taylor still is a proud feminist.
