Taylor Swift Performs "Boom Clap" With One Hit Wonder Charli XCX In Toronto: Watch
When everyone had forgotten about Charli XCX, there goes Taylor Swift and “revives her” from the dead.
T-Swizzle brought out the British singer-songwriter at her “1989 World Tour” concert in Toronto, Canada at the Rogers Centre before 50.000 people last night (Oct. 3). They performed together live the smash hit “Boom Clap” – featured on Charli XCX’s “Sucker” album.
Not going to deny “Boom Clap” is a badass pop song, but I am going to deny that Charli XCX is still relevant. She isn’t anymore and that’s the truth. “Boom Clap” may have performed well on the charts and radio – true – but “Sucker” sold poorly, and all of the following singles tanked. She then hit the road and did a mini tour around the world that performed kind of well ticket sales-wise but that was it. She then disappeared. I honestly don’t think Charli was “worthy enough” to be brought on stage at a “1989 World Tour” with Taylor. I thought she was only bringing out real superstars…or at least singers with more than 2 million followers minimum on Twitter. Anyhow, rant over, I do like “Boom Clap” and Taylor and Charli XCX’s performance last night in Toronto was awesome. I was just expecting Taylor to keep the bar high in terms of her tour surprise guests.
Thoughts?
