“Blank Space” vibes or what? Taylor Swift dropped a brand new song off her “Reputation” (November 10) album this Friday morning on digital stores. The countdown single is entitled “Gorgeous” and it’s track number 8 on the upcoming Tay-Tay album. Max Martin and Shellback are the producers of “Gorgeous”.
“And you should think about the consequence / Of you touching my hand in the darkened room / If you've got a girlfriend, I'm jealous of her / But if you're single that's honestly worse”, sings an infatuated Taylor Swift in “Gorgeous”. Taylor is obsessed with this guy with the most gorgeous face ever that she’s just ran into and she cannot take him out of her mind not even for a small second. She wants him, but she has a boyfriend, so she’s in a difficult moral position. “You're so gorgeous / I can't say anything to your face / 'Cause look at your face” Taylor will repeat over and over again in the chorus making us participant of her frustration.
“Gorgeous” reminds us a somewhat to “Blank Space” in sound. The fast-pace production finds itself in between the fine line dividing pop and urban but it will lean toward urban a little bit more in the bridge where Taylor will fast-talk, aka. give us her interpretation of rapping.
This is too catchy. This is a hit. We’re obsessed.
