Skylar Grey - Invisible (Music Video!)

Skylar Grey recently premiered via VEVO the music video for "Invisible", the official lead single from the singer/songwriter's Interscope debut album "Invinsible" whose release date was recently pushed back to January 2012 - The touching/sad ballad "Invisible" was produced by Alex da Kid.

I still think "Invisible" is a beautiful and emotional track, but being honest, it also is very radio unfriendly. Not that I have anything against ballads as singles, I mean Bruno Mars' "Just The Way You Are" did it, and Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful" was a hit too a few years ago, just to name a few. The thing with "Invisible" is that it's not a song that you're desperately looking foward to hear again and again or request at your local radio for that matter. It's a good record when you hear it randomly, but that's it. And everything I've said it's been proved just taking a quick look on the US airplay chart. The number of spins of "Invisible" is falling each week. It's currently being beaten by Nayer's "Suave" or Lenny Kravitz' "Stand". Hello!

Anyhow, commenting on the music video, I really like it. It goes well with the song's story and mood. The clip sees a nostalgic Skylar wandering through a big city. Scenes include Ms Gray singing from the heights, walking with random passer-byers, risking her life crossing a heavy-traffic street, and catching on fire! Such a great clip for a single that most likely will flop. I'm very sad Skylar has initiated her solo career like this. Interscope Records should've convinced her to release something that was more in line with her previous Alex da Kid high-profile demo tracks ('Coming Home', 'Doctor', etc) as first single.

What do you think of the song/video?
