Sia Reinvents Christmas With "Santa's Coming For Us": Song Premiere
Is Christmas ready for Sia? Or is Sia ready for Christmas? One of this is the right question one should ask oneself upon giving Sia’s new single “Santa’s Coming For Us” the first listen. The Australian singer-songwriter is releasing her first holiday album this November 17 and “Santa’s Coming For Us” is the official first single from the project. The song was released today on digital platforms, one day before Halloween. Maybe Sia wants this song to rule over Halloween parties tomorrow?
“Santa’s Coming For Us” sounds almost nothing like a Christmas song with the exception of the lyrics and its title. It’s festive, yes, but not in a very Christmassy way. It feels more Caribbean, Jamaican at moments. We like, though. We like the song, we bopped on our first listen, it’s just that we don’t think Sia is technically being faithful to the Christmas “spirit”, if you know what we mean. Buy hey… this is a democracy, and Sia is entitled of giving Christmas her own spin. We have this song on repeat and we guess that’s all it matters!
