She Still Got It! Lauryn Hill Amazes With “Feeling Good” Performance on “The Tonight Show”: Watch Her Doing Nina Simone Justice!
I’m slayed. In rare television appearance, Ms. Lauryn Hill performed a cover of Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good” classic on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on NBC last night, July 30. Lady in black Lauryn, accompanied by her all-wearing-black-too band and back up singers, amazed Jimmy, everyone in the crowd and everyone watching from home with her out-of-this-world good performance of “Feeling Good”. Her vocal control is just sick. And although it looked like was out of breathe by the last part of the performance, the emotion in her tired vocals was still enough to keep the ‘slayage’ going. Lauryn Hill’s still got!
“Why did she perform “Feeling Good”…?”…you wondering? You must be living under a rock! Lauryn Hill is one the many artists that were invited to participate, by lending their voices, on the compilation album “Nina Revisited: A Tribute to Nina Simone” – filled with brilliant covers from classics of the late diva – which was inspired by the Netflix original documentary “What Happened, Miss Simone?”. The compilation is already out in stores if you want to hear more – Lauryn has many more songs on the album!!! (originally she was only supposed to record two covers but she got so into the project that she ended up doing six!).
