Canadian singer Shawn Mendes kicked off his new headlining world tour this past weekend in New York City with a concert at the famous and legendary Radio City Music Hall. In this first show of his new world tour that will take him to visit his fans in Europe and then come back to the USA for a few summer shows, Shawn didn’t only treat the crowd with a lengthy repertoire of his hits and songs from his debut EP, debut album and debut album re-release, he also took this opportunity life gave him to perform a sold-out show at the Radio City Music Hall to debut not ONE, not TWO, but THREE NEW SONGS that must evidently be from his upcoming second studio album, which is rumored to be arriving in stores in the last quarter of 2016 via Island Records.

The 3 new songs Shawn Mendes debuted over the weekend are titled “Ruin”, “Three Empty Words” and “Like This”.

Although he maintains his signature acoustic-pop sound, truth is that it seems Shawn Mendes will be opting to “evolve” his sound somewhat for album no. 2, in an attempt to show “matureness” to the world. I say this because all 3 new songs he debuted this past weekend have either a blues or folk influence. And this is totally something I am loving. These new genres Shawn’s testing completely fit his vocals. AND, the songs are so good! Don’t believe me? Just look at the reaction of his fans in the videos below!

Besides debuting new songs, as this was a milestone moment in his career, performing at Radio City Music Hall, Shawn invited Fifth Harmony’s Camila Cabello on stage (as a gift to his crowd apparently) to perform “I Know What You Did Last Summer” together.
