Shawn Mendes Covers Alessia Cara’s “Here” On First Ever BBC Radio 1 “Live Lounge”: Listen
Who said “Here” by Alessia Cara was dead? Shawn Mendes just performed it on his “Live Lounge” set today (Feb. 1) in London.
The Canadian singer is in the English capital these days to do some promo for his “Handwritten: Revisited” album (the re-release of his debut album) and one of the promotional rounds his label scheduled for him saw Shawn performing his first “Live Lounge” ever on BBC Radio 1 today. The 17-year-old performed an acoustic rendition of his UK #1 hit "Stitches" (yep, he's been #1 there for a couple of weeks now!) as well as a cover of fellow Canadian Alessia Cara’s breakthrough smash “Here” (from “Know-It-All”) on the Clara Amfo-hosted show this Tuesday midday (UK time).
On his “story” with Alessia’s “Here”, Shawn said:

I love me some Alessia Cara and “Here”, and Shawn killed it with his personal take on the song, but I wish he had chosen a different song as his “Live Lounge” mandatory cover. He should’ve covered one of Justin Bieber’s latest hits!
