Shakira Poses With Baby Bump For UNICEF Again, New Album Dropping In 2015
Colombian pop singer Shakira is expected to give birth to her second child within the next few weeks (January marks her ninth month of pregnancy) but rather than remaining away from the public eye the “Loca” star has made voluntary headlines today (Jan. 19) on the Internet - for a good cause, though.
Just like she did two years ago when she was about to pop little Milan Piqué, Shak is teaming up with UNICEF (she’s an ambassador) to throw a ‘World Baby Shower’ where instead of asking fans for gifts for her upcoming baby boy #2, the Barranquilla native is looking for all people around the world (whether they like her or not) to purchase life-saving items to help babies and kids in areas of extreme proverty.
“We wanted to give something to other parents and babies around the world, who live in conditions of extreme poverty and vulnerability but whose lives can be improved greatly by small contributions from others”.
Shakira’s new ‘World Baby Shower’ campaign is accompanied by photographs of her showing baby bump and cuddling boyfriend, F.C Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué. Although unlike two years ago, there are none with bare baby bump in display. There is however a photo with her son Milan, and a video with Gerard! Cute!
In music-related news, Shakira’s eleventh studio album is CONFIRMED for release this year via Sony. She has been putting the finishing touches in the final months of her second pregnancy. Late last year a rumour hit the Internet reporting Shakira had recorded a duet with Iggy Azalea but the president of Shakira's official fansite denied the news saying the only duet from Shakira we would be hearing anytime soon would be the track she recorded with Mexican band Maná.
