Billboard’s Women in Music 2017 event was held last night at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood. Performers at this year’s event were: Camila Cabello, who performed “Havana”, Kehlani, who performed “Honey”, and Kelly Clarkson, who performed “Meaning of Life”. As far as the winners (yes “Women In Music” is also about the awards for its purpose is to “recognize women in the music industry who have made significant contributions to the business and who, through their work and continued success, inspire generations of women to take on increasing responsibilities within the field”), former Fifth Harmony star Camila Cabello won “Breakthrough Artist”, Kelly Clarkson won “Powerhouse Award”, Kehlani won “Rule Breaker” award, and last but not least, Selena Gomez won the main award of the night, the “Woman of the Year” award, and her speech is the must-see thing of the day. She cried in it and she made us get extremely emotional too. Selena dedicated the award to her friend Francia, who donated Selena one of her kidneys for her to remain alive and keep fighting Lupus.
The acceptance speeches:
*We thought we were going to love Camila’s performance the most but Kehlani was the big surprise for us. We gave her an outstanding ovation from our headquarters!
