Will this be the last single from “In the Lonely Hour”? Nah, can’t be. Sam Smith’s debut album is of such great quality he could release all of the songs as singles.

The British singer-songwriter has chosen “Like I Can” to serve as his fifth single and he dropped the official visuals for the soulful mid-tempo number via VEVO on Friday (Dec. 12). Watch the Sophie Muller-directed MV below:

I don’t get it. Is Sam Smith the groom and the rest are his best men? The black and white music video (shot in NYC) is an interesting watch (and the song so good) but I was hoping the final scene would be the revelation of the whole story...but the video simply ended and left me confused. I didn't get it but it seems a YouTube user fan of Mr. Smith did. Here’s what Keith P. understood:

From my perspective, Sam, and the group of men with him, represent all of the "options" the person he's singing about can choose from; and Sam is simply saying that those other men will never love that person like he can. I am slightly confused about the meaning behind them parading around and enjoying each other's company though. Then, there's a part of me that feels like they just all attended the wedding of the person Sam's in love with, and now parading around town, drinking, and easing the tension Sam may be feeling from having to witness the love of his life marry som
