Rob Thomas Is Back With New Music After 6 Years! Listen To His Ryan Tedder-Penned New Single “Trust You”

Rob Thomas is going to release in 2015 a new solo album six years after his last and if the first single is sounding a little too “Love Runs Out” (OneRepublic) to you, it’s because Ryan Tedder co-wrote and produced it.

The new Rob Thomas new single is titled “Trust You”, it world premiered today (May 25) via SoundCloud, it will be up on iTunes later this week, and it is the first taste we have from the former Matchbox Twenty leader’s upcoming third solo album “The Great Unknown” (follow-up to 2009’s “Cradlesong”) which will arrive in stores later this year via Atlantic Records.

Rob may have been out of “the scene” for 6 years, and may be 43 years of age now, but I’m sensing he might have a moderate pop hit in “Trust You”.

So what’s the song about? Rob says it’s about that one good friend everybody has: “Everyone I know, even the most put-together people, have that one person that calls them up and that no matter what, they know that the night is going to end with a bunch of bad decisions. They have one person who has all this power over them—everybody has that friend. So this is about that one friend that you have, that no matter how steady you think you are in life, when they call you you’re going to say yes and things are going to go horribly wrong in a really fun way”.

Hit or Miss?
