Rihanna Fails Shakira Who Is Forced To Sing 'Empire' on 'The Voice UK'
Epic fail. We were all expecting Shakira and Rihanna to perform "Can't Remember To Forget You" for the first time together last night, but they crushed our dreams!
Rihanna had been photographed in London earlier this week attending Drake's last European shows of "Would You Like A Tour?", and since Shakira was scheduled to perform LIVE on BBC One's "The Voice" on Saturday (March 29th), it became 'evident' the time had, at last, come to see both pop divas take a stage to do the reggae-rock anthem "Can't Remember To Forget You" as a duo.
It wasn't exactly a sudden surprise, since Rihanna arrived back to LAX on Friday night (see below), but the 'disappointing' feeling lingered on through Shakira's performance on 'The Voice UK'. Unlike at the 'Echo Awards' where she did sing a solo version of "Can't Remember To Forget You", Shakira opted for 'The Voice UK' to 'move on' and perform her next single, the epic rock ballad "Empire".
Thankfully this performance was 100% live, unlike at the 'Echo Awards' in Germany. Shakira's performance was vocally good. And "Empire" is a good song. It's just that I am not that confident on it obtaining a super-high chart peak.
