[Review] JT Hodges - "Lay It Down"
Country singer on the rise JT Hodges released late last month the first single from his upcoming sophomore album (Show Dog-Universal Music). The mid-tempo track is called "Lay It Down" and its groovy production and catchy lyrics will definitely grab you on the first listen and you won't be able to not nod and sing along! Summer smash, anyone?
Written by Busbee, Liz Rose and Eric Paslay, the country-rock jam may be somewhat of a departure from the 'unique' sound JT Hodges debuted on his first album in 2012, but if the first thing that pops into my head when I listen to "Lay It Down" is 'radio smash', then this departure doesn't sound so bad anymore, huh?
The lyrics in "Lay It Down" may strike as a little 'ambiguous'...ehmm...."I’m your coffee, you’re my cream, girl you know just what that means"..."shake your little sugar shack", but I think we all know where JT Hodges want to go. Anyhow, with that rockin’ beat and sexy, intriguing melody, everybody will want to to lay it down wherever they go.
The release date of JT Hodges' second album is yet to be confirmed by Show Dog-Universal Music but expect it to be in the second half of the year. As for the sounds-like-a-hit first single "Lay It Down", it is available for purchase on iTunes NOW!
