[Review] Demi Lovato - 'Heart Attack'

Review Demi Lovato - 'Heart Attack'

In less than 24 hours, "Heart Attack" reached #1 on iTunes in nine different countries, and that pretty much sums up the incredible anticipation of fans for Demi Lovato's upcoming fourth studio album. It has no definitive title yet, but we know the LP will arrive in stores across the world in the Spring of 2013 via Hollywood Records.

Produced by Grammy-nominated team The Suspex, "Heart Attack" is a powerful, anthemic electro-pop record that lyrically speaks about "falling in love and taking that risk". The production blends electronic-dance elements, with guitars, and drum and bass. You could say it's in the same line as Demi's last #1 pop song "Give Your Heart A Break", but "Heart Attack" has a new 'edge'. Demi takes risks vocally, and kind of channels an inner Kelly Clarkson. There is definitely some resemblance in the 'wailing' department. But that ain't a bad thing! Plus, Demi has publicly confessed her admiration for Kelly.

All in all, "Heart Attack" is a solid radio-friendly song. It began its journey with the right foot on iTunes, and with those huge first-weeks sales it will no doubt achieve great Billboard Hot 100 peaks. "Heart Attack" may also indicate Demi will embark on a 'dancier' path for her next studio album, in contrast, to the not-so-successful R&B/urban attempt in the "Unbroken" era.
