Report: Mariah Carey Fires Jermaine Dupri As Manager
Following the poor sales of her latest album “Me. I Am…Mariah. The Elusive Chanteuse”, and the evident mishandling of its promo, Mariah Carey has decided to let long-time friend, and producer Jermaine Dupri as her manager (hallelujah!). We must remember Dupri replaced Randy Jackson as Mariah’s manager in October 2013. That means Jermaine’s only lasted 11 months on this well-paid position for which he should have never been hired. I won’t attack his producing skills because he has produced a few good records (although it looks like his ‘touch’ is losing magic because what he brought for “Me. I Am…Mariah. The Elusive Chanteuse” was not bueno), but as a manager he’s proved he sucks. The almost inexistent promotion for Mariah’s latest album is just inadmissible. Why would he support Mariah in thinking that releasing a beverage brand is more important than going out and keep promoting your record everywhere?

Kevin Liles, huh? So Mariah in meditating of hiring Def Jam’s former president and Trey Songz’ current manager as hers. Not a bad idea at all. Trey's career seems to be flowing rather well, doesn’t it? Even if it turns out not to be Kevin, Mariah needs to find a new manager as soon as possible, anyone would do! I bet anyone will be better than Jermaine. And can she pick a new single soon?
