Report: Jennifer Lopez' “Latin-Flavored” New Single Premiering “In Days” / First Release With Republic Records?

jennifer lopez 2015 music

New Jennifer Lopez music - and I mean material of her own and not something for a random movie soundtrack - is coming very soon... “in days” actually, according to the very reliable program director of NYC's Z100 radio Mark Medina. Check out below what he had to say in Twitter last night (August 2) in a reply to a follower and fan of J.Lo.

Any music-related news about Jennifer these days had to do with the rumors of her imminent label change – it’s pretty much guaranteed that she will leave Capitol to become part of the Republic Records family – and not really about any new single dropping soon, so imagine my surprise face when I read Mark Medina’s tweet yesterday. So basically Jennifer Lopez lied big time when she said “A.K.A” would have a long life. She’s already moving past that era! – and no, it’s not that I’m upset, because indeed “A.K.A” just doesn’t have any more single-worthy songs, but just surprised because I wanted to believe Jennifer…

So… the new J.Lo single, which is definitely premiering this month of August, is going to be up-tempo and Latin-flavored. Latin-flavored? Let me think… what are some Latin-flavored songs from Jennifer…? Off the top of my head, I see “Let’s Get Loud” and “I Luh Ya Papi”. The rest of Jennifer Lopez singles have been either pure-pop, urban or dance. I loved “Let’s Get Loud” but ended up despising “I Luh Ya Papi”, so I hope Jennifer knows what she’s doing with this “latin-flavored” path that she’s chosen for her next era/first single.

In any case, whatever it is, it’s definitely going to be released in a perfect time, the summertime. Can’t wait!

Excited?
