Preview The New Version Of Nathan Sykes’ “Over And Over Again” Featuring His Ex Ariana Grande: Two Snippets!

I didn’t see this coming.

Former The Wanted star Nathan Sykes announced last night, January 11th, that his latest single “Over and Over Again”, which he officially released in the UK back in October, would be getting a new version featuring Ariana Grande. This remix, if you will, is to arrive on iTunes and other digital platforms this Friday, January 15th. Last night’s announcement was made simultaneously (clever strategy) by Nathan and Ariana on Twitter. They both additionally posted unique 15-second snippets of the revamped version of “Over and Over Again”. Check these out below:

FYI: “Over and Over Again” is supposed to be part of Nathan’s upcoming debut solo album but it’s really taking a long while for us to be notified of a release date. “Over and Over Again” was Nathan’s second single in the UK. “Kiss Me Quick” was the first. So, two singles, and no album release date yet. This smells bad. Perhaps his label is rethinking about this whole Nathan Sykes solo opportunity thing? I mean, his two singles flopped (not debuting at least within the Top 5 in the UK is to flop). This Ariana-assisted new version of “Over and Over Again” seems to be his last shot. Should this flop, you can already imagine the outcome.

Snippet #2

Really pretty, and really reminiscing to “Almost Is Never Enough”, Nathan and Ariana’s first collaboration ever that was included on her “Yours Truly” album back in 2013. Do you remember these two dated in late 2013? Rumor had it their relationship was just PR to promote “Almost Is Never Enough”, which was made an official single from the “The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones” soundtrack too at the time. I personally think there was love between them back then, but that’s me.

So, could this unexpected new collaboration mean that Ariana and Nathan are thinking of giving the love they felt for each other a second chance? I believe they’re both single right now. At least Ariana yes. Or will they, allegedly, reunite just to promote a new collaboration again? (So hard to believe this theory). Either way, can’t wait to hear this duet version of “Over and Over Again” on Friday. You know Ari is a love ballads slayer.

Thoughts?
