Mr. Worlwide (popularly known as Pitbull) premiered on Wednesday, July 23rd via SoundCloud a brand new track entitled "Fireball" featuring singer-songwriter John Ryan. The very ‘caliente’ song has been announced to be the first single from the Cuban-American rapper's forthcoming eighth studio album "Globalization”, which will arrive in stores in the Fall via RCA Records.

Now that the FIFA World Cup is over (go Germany!) and therefore “We Are One (Ole Ola)” is dead (what a disappointing anthem it was!), 33-year-old rapper Pitbull finally has the green light to release brand new music.

Review of “Fireball”

Well, hello there Mr. Pitbull! He’s at last taking risks with his first singles. This isn’t EDM, nor party pop, nor Dr. Luke-sounding. Or did Dr. Luke produce it? I need some confirmation! Because if it was him, Luke is definitely expanding his sound to the Latin music-flavoured territory. He just wants to be successful in all radio formats!

Update: No Dr. Luke in the end. I've just been contacted by the manager of one the song producers and he told that the producers of Pitbull's "Fireball" song are as follow: Ricky Reed, Joe London, John Ryan, and Axident.

Anyway, “Fireball” certainly sounds like a track for the summer, it's very 'caliente' (“hot” in Spanish), very bluesy, and very Cuban music-flavoured. It’s no Enrique Iglesias “Bailando”, but I definitely applaud Pitbull for bringing something ‘fresher’ on to the table. That horns-infused break after each chorus is very danceable and puts me on a good mood. John Ryan does a great job with the bluesy hooks too!

Hit or Miss?
