Phillip Phillips Debuts New Song 'Take Me Away'
Dude! This is just incredible! "Home" star, American Idol champ Phillip Phillips performed for a select audience at a Mix 106.1 radio event in Philadelphia on Tuesday (August 21) as part of his current radio tour across the US and there Phillip debuted a brand new song called "Take Me Away"...Listen above!
Amazing! This rock/indie style suits him so well. Phillip did say though the folk-ish (and a tad more pop) sound of "Home" wasn't really 'him', so expect more of this alternative rock-y style for his much-anticipated debut album, which is expected to drop in late 2012/early 2013 via 19 Recordings/Universal. So back to "Take Me Away", it just blew my mind. And I bet everyone in that crowd. I'd have given Phillip a standing ovation! "Take Me Away" sounds so PRO. Like a classic single from any legendary rocker. The lyrics, the melody, the vocals...oh my! Phillip Phillips is going to have one heck of a career.
