Nick Fradiani Wins ‘American Idol’ Season 14, Hear His Debut Single “Beautiful Life” (Is It The New “Home”?)
Haven’t really been following “American Idol” this season but I hear this year’s winner Connecticut native Nick Fradiani deserved it and I’m quite liking his coronation single “Beautiful Life”.
I see ‘Idol’ producers and 19 Recordings are trying to get a new “Home” out of it; as everything about this song and how it’s being promoted reminds me so much to what went down with Phillip Phillip’s winner’s single a few years ago. Remember? “Home” had a potent chorus, an uplifting message, a folk/rock production, and it was used as the official anthem for the US Olympics gymnastics team for the London games. In Nick’s “Beautiful Life” case, the song also has a folk-rock sound, perhaps a bit more rock than folk, it’s very uplifting and boasts a super positive message about life, the chorus is super energetic AND it’s also going to be used by an American team; the US female national soccer team for when they head to the FIFA Women's World Cup 2015 that kicks off next month in Canada. The similarities are scandalous, huh? But hey, if this little diabolic (and repetitive) marketing strategy works out and it makes “Beautiful Life” reach the success level of “Home”, then good!
By the way, the United States Soccer Federation ain’t losing time. They’ve already put together an official music video for “Beautiful Life” featuring footage from Nick’s performance of the song during the Top 2 reveal episode and images of the girls of the US female national soccer team playing the sport they love and it all fits! I’m really thinking this might be this year’s “Home”.
