New Song: Pitbull (feat. Jennifer Lopez & Claudia Leitte) - "We Are One (La La La)"
Well, here it is. The official song for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2014 to be held this summer in Brazil. This is called "We Are One (La La La)" and it's a Pitbull song featuring female support by Jennifer Lopez, and Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte. The Dr. Luke-produced inspiring pop record leaked in its demo form back January, only featuring Pitbull, but today (April 8th) the final version has been released via VEVO. Listen below!
"We Are One (La La La)" was definitely requiring a female voice or an additional vocals of some kind as the 'demo' with just Pitbull didn't hold up well. Although with Jennifer the song would be just fine, the presence of Claudia Leitte is understandable as the World Cup is held this year in Brazil and there had to be a Brazilian singer and Portuguese lyrics in the 'official song'. No-brainer here.
Dr. Luke certainly wanted to create a 'summery'-vibed record, something that evoked 'Brazil', and a pop song with 'epic' sensibilities (there are; chants, drums, whistling...). Although "We Are One (La La La)", in my opinion, isn't a song to play repeatedly on your iPhone (etc...), I have the feeling it's going to sound (and look) great in its big live performance at the FIFA World Cup 2014 opening in the Arena de São Paul - Stadium.
