After the debut of the new track "You My Everything" on an episode of English teen drama "Skins" earlier this week, the incredible talent that is Ellie Goulding premieres today (July 4) her 'new single', the Ryan Tedder-helmed "Burn". Listen on SoundCloud above!
Ellie's team stated "Burn" would be Ellie's 'new single' with a post on her official Facebook on June 26th. In the same post, they asked fans to record short clips 'showcasing how much you and your friends mean to each other, and post it to Vine and Twitter using the hashtag ?#ellieburnvine', to feature them in a to-be-released 'fan video' for "Burn". It's still a mystery if Ellie's planning to re-release "Halcyon" or if its follow-up album is soon to make its entrance. In any case, "Burn" - which is released on iTunes on August 18 - is an amazing catchy song. Ellie's fragile and angelic vocals blend well with the vibrant dance production. Prepare for Ellie to slay your souls when the chorus hits in.
Written and produced by Ryan Tedder, "Burn" was first recorded by Leona Lewis during the "Glassheart" sessions. She, however, for some reason let the track pass, till it finally got to Ellie. I'm glad Leona didn't release it, 'cause "Burn" sounds like something born to be sung by Ellie. And she'll make it a hit.
