New Music: Tinashe - "Party Favors" [From Second Album "Joyride"]
I'm confused...wasn't "Party Favors" supposed to go "...even harder than her past club songs like "2 On" and "All Hands on Deck"..."? Tinashe premiered the Boi-1da-produced "Party Favors" last night (Sept. 9) online and I don't think it goes harder than "All Hands On Deck" for instance. Not at all! Also, wasn't "Party Favors" going to be the lead single from Tinashe's second album "Joyride"? Why is she premiering it on SoundCloud, then? Ohhh, maybe this is what she meant as "a first taste from my new album"? We all got it wrong, then. All of us, Tinashe fans, thought "Party Favors" was going to be her new single...what will it be, then? A journalist at RollingStone.com called "Party Favors" "the song that stood-out from the bunch to me" after receiving an exclusive first listen of "Joyride" a few days ago, so if this song is "so good" (our review is below) then why hasn't it been picked as the lead single? Why would Tinashe release something "weaker" according to the RollingStone? We'll see what happens...maybe RCA wants to put out something poppier first?
REVIEW: As I said earlier, I don't think "Party Favors" goes harder than "All Hands On Deck" but it doesn't mean I think it's a bad song. It's the total opposite; I like Tinashe's "Party Favors" a lot. Despite me don't getting what the song is about, probably something sexual, the vibe of "Party Favors" is really cool, and the synth-urban production is just amazing (I see you Boi-1da!). Tinashe's vocals just SLAY ME in this one.
