New Music: Sam Smith (feat. Mary J .Blige) - 'Stay With Me' [Remix]
Sam Smith's latest single ‘Stay With Me’ is currently
doing amazing on iTunes in the US,
so was this remix featuring Mary J. Blige really required? Not that we hate the
recently-released remix of the beautiful soul-pop ballad, we like Mary, and
getting new music from her is always a gift, but in origin, it may seem Sam's
label are resorting to this remix to give 'Stay With Me' a final boost so it gets
into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot ASAP. And if this is the reason, we don't
support. 'Stay With Me' is a brilliant song. It just needs time to fully grow
in the US.
And it has been steadily growing on radio in the last week. They just don’t
have to ‘rush’ anything with a remix. If this remix was, however, released just
'for fun' or a 'mere gift' to fans, they we'll gladly take it.

Sam Smith’s debut album ‘In the Lonely Hour’, which is to the released in the US on June 17th
via Capitol Records. Besides the new Mary J. Blige vocals on the remix, Capitol
Records have also created a brand new artwork which features the silhouette of the
Queen of Hip Hop soul.
