New Music: Nicki Minaj - Roman Reloaded
This era is such a mess! Nicki Minaj announced she'd be releasing 'new music' from her upcoming album "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded" at 7PM EST on Thursday (February 23rd) - Speculation began then with people saying it could be 'Va Va Boom', or the studio version of "Roman Holiday" - Well, in the end, it was neither! What Nicki premiered via NYC's Hot 97 radio was the title track, "Roman Reloaded". Gladly for Her Minajety's fans it is a full rap song. Yey! And it features Cash Money boss Lil' Wayne.
"Roman Reloaded" is decent stuff. Better than 'Stupid Hoe', although worse than "Roman Holiday" and "Roman in Moscow". However, ultimately, what I'm not liking here is the way her label, or Nicki herself, is handling the promotion of this era. Enough of promo tracks, Stupid Hoes, and random Grammy performances, stick to the real single, "Starships", film, and release its music video, and perform the hell of it (that song only) on tv. Period.
