New Music: Mumford & Sons - "Believe" [Full Audio / Review]

Mumford Sons Believe cover

After premiering it on BBC Radio 1 tonight (March 9), Mumford and Sons digitally released their new single “Believe” on iTunes, and uploaded the full audio onto VEVO. The James Ford-produced “Believe” is the first official offering from the English band's forthcoming third studio album "Wilder Mind”, Mumford and Sons’ first work since 2012's critically-acclaimed “Babel” (certified platinum both in the UK and US).

Believe” boasts an ambient rock-ish, folk-ish sound and it’s a song that must be listened to in its entirety. Why? Because, at least for me, the first part of the song hit me as a bit "dull" (my mind has already changed as I write this post, though) but the second part is the complete opposite, especially thanks to the appearance of the loud guitar playing. The tempo rises, the rock and roll rises, and Marcus Mumford’ vocals just explode!

What a fantastic song “Believe” is. It's been too long since "Babel" and we were already in need of new Mumford and Sons. They’re just too good and talented to leave us music orphan for three years. By the way, I’ve heard a few reviews labelling “Believe” as a little bit "too Coldplay-ish". I just don't approve these comments at all. Mumford and Sons are 100% original to my ears.

Hit or Miss?
