New Music: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis - "White Privilege 2" [Full Audio]

macklemore white privilege part 2

Macklemore and his wingman Ryan Lewis just released a new song titled “White Privilege 2” online and they kind of broke the Internet.

“White Privilege 2” is the sequel to “White Privilege” which Macklemore, when he was still kicking it solo, included on his 2005 album “Language of My World”.

This new and updated version of “White Privilege” hears Macklemore speaking on the current racial tension in the US, the Black Lives Matter movement, and also takes this opportunity – I mean, if you have a 9-minute track you have enough time to talk about everything – to call out the likes of Miley Cyrus or Iggy Azalea when speaking on the appropriation of the black culture by certain white artists. But wait a minute, isn’t Macklemore also white? I’m confused. Oh, is he just being ironic or what?

"You've exploited and stolen the music, the moment / The magic, the passion, the fashion you toyed with / The culture was never yours to make better / You're Miley, you're Elvis, you're Iggy Azalea," Macklemore raps in one line on "White Privilege 2". Damn! Dying to see the reactions from I-G-G-Y and Miley.

UPDATE: Iggy Azalea just responded!

The new Macklemore and Ryan Lewis album “This Unruly Mess I've Made” will be released on February 26th.
