New Music: Lana del Rey - 'Shades of Cool' [Premiere]
A new Lana del Rey song is here! ‘Shades of Cool’ has been released in full simultaneously as the pre-order of Lana’s second
album 'Ultraviolence' went up on iTunes around the world. ‘Shades of Cool’ is
the track #3 on the LP, and is a song co-written by Lana and Rick Nowels, who
has created tracks for the likes of Madonna, Dido, Nelly Furtado or John
Legend.
Ah-amazing. ‘Shades of Cool’ must be heard in
its entirety. If you get 'eh, it's okay' vibes during the first seconds, just
wait until the track keeps building up as the time progresses. The
newly-released 'Ultraviolence' track opens with lonely guitars, and an eerie
atmosphere until Lana's fragile vocals break the ice. The big jazz/waltz-esque
production goes in full blast towards the middle of the song. "My baby
lives in shades of cool Blue heart and hands and aptitude He lives for love,
for women, too”, sings the 27-year-old NYC singer in the chorus of ‘Shades of
Cool’. Such a magical tune!!
‘Ultraviolence’ is released worldwide on June 13th, 2014.
