New Music: Lady Antebellum - "Compass"

Lady Antebellum Compass cover artwork

Country trio Lady Antebellum is to release on November 12 a deluxe edition of their album "Golden". The fourth LP by the Hillary Scott-led group entered Billboard's Top 200 albums chart at the top spot when originally released back in May this year.

The deluxe edition of "Golden" will feature a few new tracks, one them being this inspirational anthem called "Compass", which has also been chosen as first single. Lady Antebellum kindly uploaded the audio of "Compass" on their official YouTube page yesterday for fans to listen freely, before making it available for legal purchase on iTunes, TODAY, October 1. So if you like what you hear, below, you know what to do!

"Compass" is song full of positive energy, where heavy banjo and mandoline wrap a foot-stomping beat. The band will give advice to their fans in the heartfelt lyrics of the anthemic folk-y tune like staying true to one’s heart, and that no matter, you'll never be alone. I really like "Compass", and I like the new approach to 'pop' Lady Antebellum do with it. However, I do have to say something not so positive about "Compass". After hearing it a few times, I realized it reminds me somewhat to The Wanted's latest single "We Own The Night". I know happy folk-y songs may sound kind of similar beat-wise, but isn't there a particularly higher resemblance between these two songs besides the beat?.
