New Music: Keyshia Cole - "Next Time (Won't Give My Heart Away)"

keyshia cole next time single cover

If yesterday saw the premiere of Keyshia Cole's new ratchet song "Rick James" (feat. Juicy J), today (March 20th) the R&B singer delivers a more-listenable new song called "Next Time (Won't Give My Heart Away)". Listen below!

"Rick James" is such a mess, it's actually painful to listen to. I though it would be some sort of "street single", but apparently Keyshia is serving fans with two first singles (her sixth studio album is hitting stores later this year).

"Rick James" is most likely going for Urban radio, while Rhythmic contemporary radio should be where the ballad "Next Time" is served to.

"Next Time (Won't Give My Heart Away)" is a nice R&B ballad (with at times a space-y production), and it's more Keyshia Cole-style. In the sense, she kills it vocally, and passionately, and it's actually a listenable track. As for the lyrics, Keyshia sings about a bad man who cheated on her once, and whom she forgave and get back to, but enough is enough. A player will always be a player. Strike #2 is more than enough for brokenhearted Keyshia. She will leave that bad man and will think very well before giving her heart to a man 'next time'. Is this about Daniel Gibson? Must be...
