New Music: Jess Glynne - "Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself" [Full Audio / Studio Version]

jess glynne don't be so hard on yourself cover

The UK music industry has a new ‘it’ girl and that’s Jess Glynne. The London-born red-haired singer, signed to the local branch of Atlantic Records, started her career last year by guesting on Clean Bandit’s “Rather Be” and Route 94’s “My Love”. Both songs reached #1 in the UK. Earlier this year she lent her vocals to Tinie Tempah’s “Not Letting Go” single and it reached the top spot too. But she ain’t all about the hit collaborations only. Her own solo single “Hold My Hand” also was crowned the number 1 song in the UK this March. Huge, right? This 25-year-old soul/house singer is on a roll and on fire!!!

Her next solo single is going to be “Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself”, which will be released on iTunes UK on August 14th – just a week before Jess’ debut album “I Cry When I Laugh” hits stores – but than can be streamed right now thanks to the radio premiere, and SoundCloud official audio liberation that took place today, July 2. Yey! Although, this isn’t actually the first time we hear Jess’ new single “Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself”. She performed the song in its entirety at a festival in May so this SoundCloud premiere (hear below) doesn’t totally come as a big surprise to my ears. The high quality studio version is majorly appreciated, though.

The soulful yet danceable “Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself”, a track that hears Jess tell other girls to take it easy and don’t overdramatize a mistake, is just stunning from the very first to the last second, the production is flawless, Jess’ vocals penetrate my soul and no doubt this will go #1 too!

Hit or Miss?
