New Music: Jennifer Nettles - 'That Girl'
Former Sugarlands vocalist Jennifer Nettles is ready to shine bright in the spotlight as a soloist. She will be releasing her debut album later in 2013 via Mercury Nashville, but already has the first single out. "That Girl" was made available on iTunes on August 20th.
Co-written by Butch Walker and produced by Rick Rubin, "That Girl" is a 'I've had enough of you, and your cheap lies' country/folk anthem. This is a good song! It may have what it takes to become a Top 10 hit on US Country radio. I just think Jennifer requires a couple of amazing live performances of "That Girl" on television so she can take the song to another level, and completely mesmerize fans with its relatable lyrics. Jennifer's vocals are so good on "That Girl", and I am feeling the guitar-and-claps production.
