New Music: Imagine Dragons - "Monster"
Alternative rockers Imagine Dragons have teamed up with video game franchise "Infinity Blade" to include a new single called "Monster" as part of the soundtrack for the new iOS installment, "Infinity Blade 3", which got released on the iTunes store today (Sept. 18) just hours before the global launch of iOS 7. Imagine Dragons said they especifically wrote "Monster" for “a crucial battle” scene that takes place in the game. "Monster" was scheduled to be released September 19, but it leaked online a day ahead. Listen now!
I like the spacey electronic beat in the intro, although the intro as a whole is a tad too long. Verses are really good, but the chorus is tad underwhelming (most of their songs have epic choruses, you know that!), so I'm a bit on the fence with this one. Alex Da Kid is said to have produced "Monster" (he already worked with the band a lot in "Night Visions"). I'mma give it a few more spins, 'cause it might grow on me with time!
