New Music: Ester Dean - Gimmie Money
She has written hits for so many artists including; Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Kelly Clarkson and I wouldn't be lying if I tell you this list could go on and on to the infinite! Just click here if you don't believe me - That's Ester Dean, an American singer and songwriter, and record producer signed to Zone 4 Records/Interscope Records. The mastermind behind some of your favorite radio-friendly songs. She's kept it low-pro for years now, although she did release a one-off single back in 2009 called "Drop It Low" (feat. Chris Brown) as a part of some movie soundtrack but that doesn't count to me. Ester Dean, with the support of Interscope, is ready to have her big break and release her first album. The set will be coming later in 2012, but the lead single could be here very soon.
This new track called "Gimmie Money", feat. Nicki Minaj, has leaked online this week and it all points out it could be Ester's true introduction single. "If you guys Love Gimmie Money ft Nicki Minaj as my Single let’s get it Trending #GimmieMoney," she tweeted on Tuesday (Feb. 21st). The hashtag hasn't trended on Twitter actually, but does that really matter? "Gimme Money" is catchy. It's a tad generic though, the Stargate beat is very Alexis Jordan meets Rihanna's "What's My Name", and Ester doesn't help much with the 'na na na' references, but it's all good. "Gimme Money" is definitely Top 40 material. I'm really hoping Ester surprises us with her debut CD, and pushes the envelope a bit, lyrics and productions-wise.
