New Music: Ed Sheeran – ‘Sing’ [Full Audio]

Ed Sheeran – ‘Sing’

After revealing crucial details about his upcoming sophomore LP ‘X’ (or ‘Multiply’) this past weekend, UK singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran now premieres the lead single titled ‘Sing’. The track, which is produced by the one and only Pharrell, was first heard in full on Zane Lowe's BBC Radio 1 show on Monday night (April 7th).

‘Sing’ is just one of 120 songs Ed Sheeran has recorded for the follow up to his multi-platinum debut. Wondering why he chose this track to be the first single? He told Zane Lowe before the premiere: "The reason I chose this song to be the first single is like I think if I put out an acoustic ballad first, everyone would be like "ehh its alright". But with this you get people who are either going to love it or going to hate it but at least their going to be talking about it."

Sheeran then went on to speak about his experiences with Pharrell."'Sing' was a session I did with Pharrell and he sat me down and played me a lot of things...He is soul. Even when he speaks he sounds soulful. The way he moves his neck when he's dancing, it's all soulful" he told Zane.

‘X’ (or ‘Multiply’) is scheduled to arrive in stores this Summer on June 23rd via Atlantic Records. Sheeran has been in the studio with Pharrell, Rick Rubin, and Jake Gosling working on the project. ‘Sing’ is a good way to get things started. Hit play and enjoy the track in full below.
